This yarn looks like a 2ply, but it is in fact a 4ply. 4 Singles were used to create 2 2ply's which were then spun together. 

This yarn is beautiful in crochet and knitting. There's a lot of twist in this yarn so it provides a nice structure while also being suitable for lace or plain stockinette. Not ideal for cabling.
